 The Brownlie Neighbourhood Banner Project

An Arts Project to replace a number of old street banners with a set of new vibrant banners which reflect the local community, traditional owners  and its social and support groups.

The local community were consulted and photographed for this project. Their personal input and collaboration have been pivotal to the success of the project.

The banners were launched at the  Harmony Celebration Day held on 20th March 2010 at a local community festival.

The reverse side of each banner depicts the art work of the children of three schools in the area the students of which entered a competition to have their work selected for the project.

All art work and photography by Charlotte A O'Shea (CAOS)
My grateful thanks to the Brownlie/Bentley community, local service organisations and social groups along with the principals and art teachers of the three schools who took part in the project.

First Billboard erected November 2009: Image is a montage of photographs of Brownlie Towers and local community groups and residents of Brownlie Towers.
